The RCMP issued a news release Monday saying emergency crews responded to the collision on Route 11 in Oak Point at around 12:30 a.m.

“The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene as a result of his injuries,” Sgt. Patrick Dupont said in the release.

Police said a collision reconstructionist attended the scene, along with paramedics and the Miramichi Fire Department. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of the man’s death.
